In modern poultry growing, animal weight control during the entire growing period is an important instrument in order to

1. Manage the birds in the best possible way,
2. Rapidly detect first signs of disease,
3. Monitor the birds’ weights up to the slaughtering day.

For broiler breeder management, however, it is essential to control the birds’ weight to prevent that they get too heavy.

When connected to a weighing computer the following data can be displayed:

1. Daily average animal weight
2. Number of weighing's/day
3. Daily weight gain
4. Standard deviation (g), coefficient of variation (%) – indicate the weight deviation from the average value
5. Uniformity
6. Automatic updating of average weight
7. Data collection over a period of one year

FIVE GOOD REASONS

1. Weighing platform is made of film coated waterproof wood - highly durable and easily accepted by the birds.

2. Scales hang down from the ceiling, should be suspended as low as possible so that even the laziest (heaviest) birds can step onto the weighing platform.
